What is the Local Helps Connection and the Community Resource Directory?

Local Helps Connection (LHC), a nonprofit organization of concerned volunteers, have been collecting existing data from the state of Oregon, starting with Coos County – in public, private, faith-based, and tribal sectors.    Several years ago, the “Helpline” found in the telephone book became defunct.  Ever since that time, health, welfare, educational, and social organizations developed their own individual lists of resources, without coordination between agencies.
Local Helps Connection’s database/website would act as a one site access point to connect people and agencies to appropriate resources.   We hope you find this resource helpful in your quest to either help you, your relatives, neighbors, or friends.
The website is also designed to benefit the organizations listed in the directory.  Agency staff members and caseworkers should find the index listings beneficial in assisting clients.
At present, Local Helps is mainly focused upon Coos County resources.  Soon, we will be adding Curry County.

WHAT LOCAL HELPS CONNECTION “CAN NOT” DO:

Local Helps Connection is NOT an agency that provides the help.  We are only a directory of existing agencies with resources.  All information provided in the Local Helps Connection (LHC) website is provided for information purposes only.
